LG hits “modest milestone” flogging 10m smartphones.
LG Optimus L-Series sales have exceeded 10m, marks “a modest milestone for LG and its mobile devices business,” the company said today.
The Optimus maker says its unique design on its smarties give it an edge, also took a shot at leaders Apple and Samsung saying:
“The success of L-Series in recording eight figures in sales is proof that many consumers want attractive smartphones with distinctive — not “me too” — styling.”
Ouch.
There is four models in the L series with various sized screens: Optimus L3, Optimus L5, Optimus L7 Optimus L9, sold in over 50 markets worldwide.
“This milestone demonstrates the importance of delivering smartphones with stylish design, comparative size of display and enhanced UX features,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, CEO of LG Mobile.
“Whereas other manufacturers are putting all their eggs into a one-size-fits-all phone, our strategy is to develop mobile products for all types of customers according to their individual needs and lifestyles.”
The Korean maker is releasing Optimus G in Australia in the first quarter of 2013.
“We’ve built what we believe at a point in time the best smartphone in the world,” says LG’s Marketing General Manager, Lambro Skropidis about the Oz bound Optimus G.
