LG has already sent out the Australian invitations for the official release of their Optimus G smartphone which is set to go head to head with the new HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4 now it has emerged that the Korean Company could have as many as four new smartphones up their sleeve.
Overnight a teaser has emerged showing off as many as fournew smartphones which LG is tipped to release at the Mobile World Congress next week.
A teaser video onYouTube shows a number of references to the word “Tag”, as well ashighlighting specific letters in words: The V in “The View,” the L in”The Style,” the F in “The Freedom”, and the G in “The Greatness.”
In Australia LG is fighting hard to get a seat at thesmartphone table with carriers and mass retailers set to start ranging theirnew smartphone range.
The individual letters in the new teaser video could signifymodel numbers of a range, with each being associated with the word it is hiddeninside. Though it could be for an entirely new range of mobile devices, it ispossibly revisions of existing handsets, such as the V standing for the Optimus Vu.
The repeated use of the word “Tag” more likelyrefers to NFC stickers, something that LG has worked on and showed at MobileWorld Congress last year. The Tag+ stickers could be stuck to various surfacesand can be configured to send a specific message when communicated with. Forexample, a Tag+ sticker with a “Sleep” command set onto it could theoreticallyturn off all network connections the phone has, lower the brightness, and setan alarm for the next morning. Considering talks from other parties ahead ofthe event, Mobile World Congress is likely to see NFC as a major topic this year.
