LG’s new 21:9 “UltraWide” monitor line-up will be on display at CES 2015 next week, including its first 21:9 UltraWide monitor designed specifically for graphics-intensive gaming.LG states the 34UM67 is the “world’s first” UltraWide monitor compatible with AMD FreeSync technology, providing for “fluid motion during fast game-play”, eliminating screen tearing that occurs when the monitor and graphics card are out of sync.
“AMD FreeSync technology is an innovative monitor technology, based on free and open industry standards, to eliminate the tearing and stuttering that has plagued PC gaming for 30 years,” Roy Taylor, ISV/IHV Partner Group, AMD corporate vice president, stated of the technology.
The monitor’s Black Stabiliser is designed to provide visibility for games in dark scenes, while Dynamic Action Sync mode minimises input lag.
LG will additionally be showcasing a curved 34″ UltraWide monitor (34UC97), featuring quad-HD resolution (3440 x 1440).
LG states the 34UC97, which is compatible with Thunderbolt 2 and capable of transfer speeds of up to 20 Gbps in a single logical channel, will allow creative professionals “to look at more images as thumbnails and media creators to see longer video image sequences or graphical representations of sound”.
Also on display will be LG’s 21:9 curved UltraWide multi-display monitor (34UC87M), providing various multi-display setup options, designed for professionals such as stock traders and other financial professionals, along with LG’s digital cinema 4K monitor (31MU97), featuring resolution of 4096 x 2160.
