The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has given LG Electronics a total of 10 2015 International CES Innovation Awards, including the EcoHybrid Dryer in the Home Appliances category. Other winning products were in the Computer Peripherals, Video Displays, and Wireless Handsets categories.
LG’s Energy Star-certified EcoHybrid dryer is the first dryer to combine conventional vented drying with a heat pump to reduce energy by recycling heat. This uses a technology previously found only in air conditioners and dehumidifiers. In total, the EcoHybrid dryer delivers up to 50 per cent energy savings.
LG won an Innovation Award for its 77-inch curved flexible 4K OLED TV, the G3 smartphone, marking the third year in a row that LG’s OLED TVs and premium G Series smartphones have earned CES Innovation Awards.
Other LG products winning 2015 awards included the 4K Ultra HD and OLED TVs and computer monitors. The awards will formally be presented during the 2015 International CES in Las Vegas.
“Our 2015 CES Innovation Awards across multiple categories are proof of LG’s commitment to our brand promise: innovation for a better life,” said William Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics US. “At CES
in January, we look forward to showing how these groundbreaking new products can seamlessly fit into and even enhance consumers’ lives.”
Sponsored by CEA and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America, the CES Innovation Awards highlight product advancements in technology design and engineering. CES Innovation Awards are selected annually by a panel of prominent industry designers, engineers and journalists who judge product entries on a variety of criteria including user value, aesthetics, innovative design, quality and contributions to quality of life.
