Linksys has introduced a three-in-one wireless-N device for home networking; the Wireless N Home Router (WRT150N).
The device is a wireless-N access point, a 4-port duplex 10/100 switch and router in one, allowing you to share your cable or DSL Internet connection around the house wirelessly.
Using the final draft specification (802.11n) technology, the device is designed to deliver speeds up to nine times faster and three times the range of the Wireless-G spec, when teamed up with its notebook, desktop or network adapter, Linksys says.
“The new WRT150N is Linksys’ answer for consumers who wish to utilize the Wireless-N technology and connect multiple devices in their home network at incredible speeds. This is a sign of the many wireless home networks that have come to include various lifestyle and consumer appliances with wireless access,” says Linksys’ Graeme Reardon.
The device can also encode all wireless transmissions with WPA2 encryption which helps to protect data and privacy. It can also serve as user network’s DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to help protect user PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports Virtual Private Network (VPN) pass-through, the company says.
