2ergo has announced the development of Australia’s first live video streaming application for Apple’s iPhone.
The new Cricket LIVE application, developed for Vodafone Hutchison Australia, will provide our nation’s cricket fans with live streaming of every Australian international cricket match in the 2009/2010 season, including the International Test Matches, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals.
The application also provides live scores, ball-by-ball commentary, push notifications of Fall of Wickets, Cricket Australia videos with player interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, and an alert function to remind users of upcoming match schedules. Users can also share the action via email, Facebook and Twitter.
“The Cricket LIVE iPhone application is set to change the way consumers engage with mobile technology and illustrates the potential for smartphone technology to revolutionise the way in which consumers access information on the move,” said Adam Ward, 2ergo’s General Manager, Australia. “The paid-for application enables VHA to deliver superior mobile content directly to its customers who in turn benefit from up-to-the minute content that can be quickly and easily shared with friends.”
The Cricket LIVE iPhone application is available for everyone in Australia to download from the Apple App Store for $1.19 to access score updates, running commentary and match reports and a number of other action-packed features. Vodafone and 3 customers can buy a Cricket TV Day Pass at a cost of $2.49 per day to enable access to the live stream.
