Logitech has taken the wraps off two new headphones for gamers, introducing the Artemis Spectrum G933 and G633 headsets. The G933 Artemis Spectrum Wireless Gaming Headset and G633 Artemis Spectrum Gaming Headset are decked out with patent-pending Pro-G audio drivers made with hybrid mesh materials, with Logitech stating they “deliver a superior all-around audio experience”.
The G633 is a wired gaming headphone, while the G933 offers the option to play wired or wirelessly, with ultra-low latency on 2.4 GHz wireless.
Logitech states they are the first headphones to offer Dolby and DTS Headphone:X surround options to gamers
“The Pro-G drivers and surround sound technologies create lifelike in-game spatial awareness, allowing you to clearly hear enemies sneaking around, or special ability cues,” Logitech states.
“DTS Headphone:X technology utilises calibration and processing that brings gamers and audio fans closer to the studio experience than ever before, supporting up to 7.1 channels of audio and multiple options for personalisation.”
Fully customisable, the headphones feature RGB lighting, adjustable from up to 16.8 million colours, swappable backlit speaker plates and programmable G-keys, while, when paired with Logitech gaming software, users can customise audio settings, create personal sound profiles, and for the G933 save their favourite EQ.
Both headphones feature multi-platform support and sound mixing, working with PCs, mobile devices and consoles, including the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the G633 featuring one USB connection and one analogue input connecting and mixing sound from up to two devices, and the G933 featuring one USB mix adapter and two analogue inputs connecting and mixing sound from up to three devices.
“We saw that no one was really building a pair of high-quality headphones for gamers,” Ujesh Desai, Logitech gaming business vice president and general manager, commented.
“So we challenged our audio team to see if they could do it. I’m a gamer and a musician, so I was really excited when the team came back with a design that delivered.”
Logitech states the G633 is expected to be available at global retailers beginning in September for a suggested retail price of US$149.99 and the G933 beginning in October for a suggested retail price of US$199.99.
