Logitech are changing the game for wireless mice, with the company announcing that its Logitech G Powerplay wireless charging mouse-mat will be coming to Australian retailers in August.
The new accessory, first revealed at this year’s Computex, will come accompanied by the company’s latest flagship mice – the G903 and G703 gaming mice.
The Powerplay (seen below) provides continuous charging while both playing games and at rest, which Logitech say will completely eliminate the need to dock or park your mouse to recharge.
Meanwhile, the G903 and G703 come equipped with Logitech’s new Lightspeed technology. Logitech say that this will allow the mice to deliver “competition-level responsiveness at speeds faster than many competitive wired gaming mice.”
In addition, they promise that a unique Frequency Agility Mechanism that “automatically avoids problematic interference, ensuring smooth and consistent performance.”
The Powerplay has been built with Lightspeed in mind, allowing it to achieve optimal signal strength when used with the G903 and G703.
Essentially, the pitch here is that you no longer have to choose between the responsiveness of a wired mechanical or the convenience of a wireless mouse.
“For decades, we’ve pioneered development in wireless gaming, and our new Powerplay and Lightspeed wireless technologies continue this commitment to wireless superiority,” says Ujesh Desai, Vice President and General Manager of Logitech G.
“With Powerplay , Lightspeed and our new G903 and G703 mice, you’ll get unbeatable precision, lag-free performance and infinite power, which gives gamers the highest-quality experience,” he said.
The Powerplay hasn’t gotten an Australian price yet. However, Logitech indicate that it’ll be available through major Australian retailers from August.
The G703 will hit shelves around the same time for $149.95 while the G903 tops off the range at $249.95.
