Android 5.0 Lollipop will reportedly go live on Samsung’s Galaxy S5 in December, although Samsung has yet to confirm an official date.SamMobile has reported sources as stating Lollipop will land on the flagship S5 some time in December, however a time-frame for its global rollout was not provided.
Google states Lollipop is its “largest, most ambitious release on Android”, designed to complement a growing ecosystem of various devices.
Lollipop will run on Google’s Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player releases, and will also be available on its Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10 and Google Play edition devices.
Following Lollipop’s launch, HTC reconfirmed its pledge to have updates available for its HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) smartphones within 90 days of receiving the final software from Google.
Sony will be making Lollipop available across its entire premium Z series, starting at the beginning of 2015 for its Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series.
Motorola has also confirmed Lollipop will be coming to its Moto X (1st generation and 2nd generation), Moto G (1st generation and 2nd generation), Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini smartphones.
