For content creators in the blogosphere, Sony’s latest innovation in the pocket video camera space, the 8 GB Bloggie MHS-FS3, promises to capture and playback 3D images on its 2.4-inch 3D LCD screen, without the need for glasses.
The Bloggie 3D camera gives HD 3D as well as full HD 2D MPEG-4 video or 5.1 megapixel photos on the miniature device.
Sony’s latest camera features dual lenses capability, similar to the HDR-TD10, its larger HD 3D video recorder, which was also premiered in CES held last week in Las Vegas.
The latest installation of Bloggie, Bloggie Duo and Bloggie 3D models, the HS-FS1, MHS-FS2 and MHS-FS3, is part of Sony’s massive 3D product offensive which is seen as an attempt to reverse the decline in fortunes the tech giant has recently experienced.
“3D is far more than a science fiction gimmick “to highlight special effects. 3D is merely a reflection of reality,” said Sony Chairman Sir Howard Stringer at CES.
3D Images can also be viewed on capable television via HDMI connection, says the Japanese maker.
The device will be available from April 2011, while the Bloggie and Bloggie Duo are due out in March.
