Oops. Optus and Vodafone-Hutchison appear to have been left out of Microsoft’s plans to launch its new Windows Mobile 7 mobile phone operating system in Australia.
Telstra appears to be the only Australian carrier chosen to participate in Microsoft’s launch of its long-awaited new mobile OS next week.
Microsoft’s PR agency Howorth yesterday sent invitations to the media to a “Microsoft and Telstra” launch party for the new system, to be held next Tuesday in Sydney.
Tracey Fellows, Microsoft Australia CEO, and Kate McKenzie, Telstra’s chief marketing officer, are billed as the speakers at the unveiling of Windows Phone 7 at Luxe Studios in East Sydney. The 90-minute event will include a press conference and Windows Mobile Phone 7 demonstration, according to the e-mailed invitation.
