Microsoft is releasing a customisable gaming control, the Xbox Adaptive Controller for gamers who have limited mobility and are unable to utilise a traditional controller.
Microsoft says this controller is ‘designed primarily to meet the needs of gamers with limited mobility’. This new controller can also be used on Windows 10 computers.
The Xbox Adaptive Controller features large programmable buttons and has 19 jacks which connect to external switches, buttons, mounts and joysticks to help make gaming more accessible. However, it does requires external devices for gameplay which of course, are sold separately.
Microsoft has made these controllers so they are able to be customised so different players can create a controller that caters to their needs.
Microsoft designers spoke with those in the accessibility community and created the controller off their feedback.
The US pricing for the controls will be $100 with no word on Australian pricing. The Xbox Adaptive Controller will be coming to Aussie shores later this year.
