Microsoft Australia has cut the price of its Surface RT tablet, which is used in Hawaii Five O to solve most crimes, in a bid to steer students away from Apple. Where the bottom of the range Surface RT 32 gigabyte would normally cost shoppers A$559, students will now be charged $219, a 60 percent discount.
The more expensive Surface RT with type keyboard cover has seen its RRP cut by 55 percent to $319.
The deal should see Microsoft increase its currently low tablet market share in Q3, IDC analyst Suzanne Tai told Channel News.
