Microsoft To Support 7″ Tabs With Windows Blue

Microsoft is expected to release a public preview version of Windows Blue within the next few months.

According to Win8China, Microsoft is planning to release only one preview version of Blue before its official roll out. At present, features are still being added, including an enhanced search functionality.

Microsoft’s Bing team has been working on improving search by including applications and content as part of the search mix. For instance, a search of “Inglourious Basterds” will generate relevant search queries and apps with the content available. Additionally, Internet Explorer will have deeper integration.

Windows Blue will also be compatible with 7- and 8-inch tablets, providing Microsoft with the opportunity to compete in the cheap end of the tablet market. In an effort to keep their ecosystem uniform, a Windows Blue update is expected to hit Windows Phone 8 devices too.
