Microsoft is banking on the release of a new Surface Pro 4 later this year in an effort to take on key Windows partners who are set to launch new 2 in 1 notebooks running Windows 10.
The US software Company who is trying to steal deals away from the likes of Lenovo, HP, Acer and Dell with their Surface Pro range recently lost out when the Australian Bureau of Statistics rejected buying thousands of the new Surface Pro 3.
Federal Government insiders told ChannelNews that the assessment was that the Surface Pro 3 “did not stack up” when compared to offerings from Acer and Lenovo.
Microsoft Australia insiders have told ChannelNews that the new Surface Pro 4 will not be launched in Australia until August with the Company set to display their new offering at the opening of their new Sydney shop later this year.
ChannelNews understands that the Surface Pro 4 will launch in the USA in July 2015 and will be used to demonstrate the new Windows 10 on July 27th which is when Microsoft is tipped to officially launch Windows 10.
The device will have a 2,160 x 1,440 pixel-resolution 2K display screen, it will run on an Intel Core-i5 and Core-i7 processor, and incorporate a stylus pen like the Surface Pro 3.
It will also be available in two sizes, 12 and 14 inches these sizes are designed to take on the iPad Pro.
