Just 24 hours after Hewlett Packard axed its WebOS tablet, Microsoft has made and aggressive play aimed at luring WebOS developers to its struggling Windows Phone division.Brandon Watson, the Director of Developer Experience for Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, posted a tweet addressing HP’s WebOS developers, saying “[Microsoft] will give you what you need to be successful on WindoesPhone.”
Watson sweetened the deal with “free phones, dev[eloper] tools, and training, etc.”
His Tweet proved successful as he was replying to developers within hours.
Windows Phone trails in the mobile phone industry, with Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS giving the revamped entrant little room for growth.
Its bid to steal proficient developers from HP is an attractive invitation, as the company is believed to cut jobs as it experience dramatic operating changes.
