Microsoft’s Mango update is nearing release as they’ve supplied the software to manufacturers, but will it be the company’s saving grace?
The highly anticipated Windows Phone Mango Update is nearing, with Microsoft releasing the update to manufacturers. GSMarena report Mango should be available some time in Q3 for existing Windows Phone customers, with new handsets coming preinstalled with the updated software.
The update will bring a mobile version of Microsoft’s Internet explorer 9 with strong HTML 5 support, multitasking capabilities said to dwarf those of iOS and Android, and performance improvements. There’s also a threaded view that combines differing social interactions, such as SMS/MMS, instant messaging and Facebook chats.
The update will be available for all legitimate Windows Phones, except for hacked and unofficial updated phones.
