NEO X8-H 4K Android media hub has just been unleashed.NEO X8-H 4K Quad Core Android (4.4 KitKat) media hub plays music and videos including stuff from the web like podcasts, YouTube, music streaming and all common digital media files.
4K playback means you can view videos and movies in four times the definition of Full HD.
The Android TV box features Dual-Band Wi-Fi 802.11n – the external antenna has both 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz frequency ranges, the latter brings less interference for streaming Full HD content.
But its not just for Androids – the new NEO also has AirPin Pro for Apple iOS device compatibility, and also works with Microsoft Windows OS.
It comes pre-installed with open source XBMC MINIX Edition (Gotham) with full hardware decoding support – and is the world’s first 4K XBMC on Android.
The media hub runs at powerful speeds – with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9r4 processor and X8 Octo-core GPU under the bonnett. It has 2GB RAM memory and 16GB of eMMC internal storage (Embedded Multi-Media Controller).
It costs $229 including the M1 AirMouse, which comes free with the hub for a limited time. Otherwise it costs $49.95.
NEO M1 2.4GHz Wireless AirMouse has a six-axis gyroscope and accelerometer technology was designed to use with content apps like XBMC, YouTube. The AirMouse features a directional pad and traditional multimedia playback buttons and ‘Fly Mode’. NEO M1 is compatible with the MINIX NEO Series, in addition to Windows, Mac OS X, Android and Linux.
The MINIX X8-H has a built-in power management system and a flash memory controller and built-in thermal control management system protects against heat issues so is safe to be left on standby.
