Promising speedier calibrations of locations, Taiwanese company Mio plans to introduce two new car GPS systems in August, and prices in this prohibitively expensive domain seem to finally be falling. The Mio Digiwalker C310 and C510 will cost $599 and $799 respectively. According to Mio, the new systems can be unclipped from their dashboard mounts and go walkabout to help find restaurants and other shanks pony
destinations.
“The improvements are considerable. The coverage has increased considerably as has the speed – and the prices are also coming down as their popularity grows,” said Jay Ko, the product manager for distributor Synnex.
Mio is a division of Taiwan’s Mitac.
