Synergy Audio Visual’s 79 series of Mission loudspeakers include the 790 and 796 monitors, a matching center speaker, the 79C, and 79AS 300W active subwoofer. The 79AS subwoofer uses a high-powered class A/B amplifier topology, maintaining signal purity without the need for noisy ‘switch-mode’ power supplies.
This series offers multilayer cabinet construction that utilises three different densities of resonant absorbing particle composite to form a rigid enclosure. This is said to reduce colouration and resonance that plagues ordinary speakers.
A profiled baffle’s gentle curves are optimised for dispersion. The narrow base works with Mission’s inverted driver geometry to produce good off-axis response as wide as 70 degrees.

The bass and mid-range drivers are made from a special polyamide material known as ‘Parawave’. These drivers are the result of extensive research by Mission into the properties of aramid fibres and how they can be used in loudspeaker drivers.
Exhibiting great linear pistonic motion over their entire frequency range, the drivers retain speed and accuracy inherent in the most complex of music material.
Polyamide has outstanding strength-to-weight characteristics, giving the 79 range the accuracy for the most demanding of program materials.
The Parawave drivers also utilise a new iridium phase plug on the pole piece to minimise standing waves created inside the cone area. Their die-cast chassis from lightweight cast aluminium is designed to reduce through cone reflections to a minimum.
All tweeter units are made from Viotex, a fine weave material doped to provide strength and agility. Utilising a wave-guide integrated into the front baffle assembly, the tweeter units also sport neodymium magnets and heat-sinks to wick away heat from the ferro-fluid cooled voice coils, maintaining a constant temperature and reducing thermal compression.
A direct-coupled crossover on the back of the terminals provides the shortest and most direct signal path inside the speaker. Audiophile grade components are utilised throughout the crossover to minimise phase shift and are tuned with critical listening and advanced computer modeling to get the best result.
Both the 794 and 796 feature an asymmetrical single side-ways firing bass driver per speaker, housed within the curve of the cabinet. Placed close to the floor, for an effective couple with both the floor and room, the result is a powerful and tight bass without a larger cabinet design.
There are a total of seven coats of lacquer on the cabinets, which the manufacturer believes will make these speakers at home in any lounge room.
