According to new data from research firm Sensor Tower, mobile gaming revenues have grown 32% on the second quarter of last year to $12.2 billion.
Breaking it down, Sensor Tower say mobile games accounted for about 77% of all global revenue on Apple’s App Store for the quarter and approximately 88% of spending on Google Play.
The former saw an increase of 34% of $7.7 billion while the latter grew 28% to reach $4.5 billion.
The firm also estimated that mobile game downloads from the App Store and Google Play totaled approximately 9.2 billion worldwide last quarter, representing a 19% increase on the previous year.
