A new piece of software that monitors the activity of children and teenagers online will send you an instant email of text message if they are potentially in danger.
The ChatAlert software uses technology developed in Australia to keep children safe in chatrooms and on instant messaging programs.
It does this by identifying conversation patterns and phrases predators use to talk to children online.
If these patterns are identified, the parent is immediately notified by email or SMS, no matter where in the world they are.
The parent can then send a warning to the child, close the chatroom or turn the computer off entirely by return email or SMS.
The product goes on sale on Monday with a RRP of $79.95. More information is available at www.chatalert.com.au
