LG is set to strengthen its grip on the LCD TV market over the coming months with a major marketing campaign wrapped around the World Cup and several new LCD TV’s.

LG Electronics who are set to be a major force in the LCD TV market in Australia have announced  that it has released a 47-inch 1920×1080 full HD LCD TV. It is not known when the product will be available in Australia but it is expected to be a major competitor to Sony’s Bravia LCD TV. The new model has a resolution of 1920×1080 and delivers images twice as bright as the conventional HD resolution of 1280 X 720, The dense pixel structure which has hindered technology development for the adoption to smaller panels has been overcome by LG in this model.

The new 47-inch full HD LCD TV has a 250GB hard disk drive , which allows automatic recording up to 2 hours starting from the turn-on, and image storage up to 92 hours. The company is currently launching two other full HDs, a 55-inch LCD TV and a 71-inch PDP TV.
