Called “Bring Your Photos to Life”, the competition is being conducted on an international basis by the body of key retailers and distributors that make up Australia’s Photo Information Council.
The Photo Imaging Council believes that a very short video clip that aims to encourage users of digital and phone cameras to do more with their photographs could be used on You Tube and email messages as a viral marketing tool to bring home the message of how important it is to print digital photos.
Photo Imaging Council of Australia’s Director, Paul Curtis said, “All forms of digital data storage are in the high risk area. People often don’t realise how important those casual snaps of today will be in the years to come. Photographs are one of the few things that get more valuable as times goes by. The only sure way to hold onto your memories is to print them.”
The prizes are in US dollars and are: first, $3,000; second, $1,500; and third, $500.
The competition closes on December 29th, 2010. More information and details can be found www.idigitaldarwin.com
