Earlier this month, the Motorola G34 5G was launched in India. Now, the new Moto G Play (2024), has been released to the US market, with no news on availability in the Australian market yet.
The device is a successor to the Moto G Play (2023) that debuted in 2022, and has a boxy, rear camera module that elevates slightly from the back panel.
It looks fairly similar to the OPPO Find X5 and Reno 8 series, with the power button doubling as a fingerprint scanner.
On the front is a centre aligned punch-hole display (6.5-inches), with a HD+ resolution and 500nits peak brightness. It’s surrounded by thick bezes and features a 90Hz refresh rate.
There’s a single 50MP main camera sensor paired with an LED flash unit, and up front there’s an 8MP selfie camera.
The phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 680 processor, with 4GB RAM which can jump to 6GB virtual RAM. Additionally, there’s 64GB internal storage, expandable via microSD card slot.
Power is drawn from a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging, and it runs on Android 13 OS.
The Moto G Play (2024) will be available in a Sapphire Blue colour, from February 8th, retailing for U$150. It remains unclear what the pricing and availability for Australia is.
