Motorola has announced the launch of its first compatible handset for Telstra’s Next G network – and it’s a version of the popular Motorazr phone.

The Motorazr Maxx V6 builds on the famous design of the original and adds music, Web and video functionality.

The Maxx V6 is capable of download speeds of up to 3.6MB per second, according to Motorola, suiting it to the high-speed Next G network.

In Telstra spend $1 billion developing the network, which launched in October. It delivers download speeds of up to 1.5Mbps, peaking at 3.6Mbps. The speed factor opens up a lot of new capabilities and a new era for mobile and notebook downloads.

The HSDPA handset is finished in metal and glass and includes a 2.0 megapixel camera for two-way calling. There is also an integrated music player and up to 2GB of optional memory.

RRP: $819
