Microsoft has announced that Xbox 360 owners will have access to Facebook, Twitter, and the Movies On Demand service early next week.

Starting November 17, 2009, users can update their Facebook status and photos, view profiles, and even compare their Xbox Live and Facebook friends’ lists to see which of them are online.  Users will also have access to Twitter, allowing anyone to post and reply to Tweets, as well as view profiles and conversations.

In addition, Movies on Demand on Xbox Live will also be available next week, allowing users to watch their favourite movies without having to leave the living room. The company says that you can also share the experience with up to seven friends through voice chat and Avatar integration on the TV screen.

While this service is exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members, Silver members can enjoy Gold features for free (for a limited time). This free trial of the new service will be available starting from 4am on November 21 until 4am November 24.
