Foxtel has won the exclusive broadcasting rights to one of the most anticipated pugilistic events in Australian history: the Mundine versus Green showdown.
The fight, a WBA eliminator bout, will be broadcast exclusively live on Wednesday 17 May 2006 on a pay-per-view basis ($50) on the Main Event channel (available to all residential Foxtel and Optus Digital subscribers). The under-card events will also be broadcast on Main Event.
Dubbed “Man v Machine”, the fight is one of the most anticipated Austrailan bouts of all time. Unsurprisingly, both boxers have engaged in a bitter war of words spanning several years. Finally ations will speak louder than words when the pair face off in the ring.
This is the fight all Australian sports fans have been waiting for and Foxtel is thrilled to have secured the much sought after television rights to broadcast the event,” said Foxtel’s Brian Walsh.”We intend giving subscription television viewers the best seat in the house.”
The fight will of course also be seen in hotels and clubs.
