Muslims can now buy the hot new Sony PS3 game Little BigPlanet that comes with their new Sackboy character that is designed to take on the likes of Mario and Sonic Hedghog from Nintendo without being offended say Sony.
The new game that created a furore earlier this month when Sony pulled it from shelves in Europe because it contained a song that had the potential to upset Muslims is set to be a category killer after being released in Australia this week.
The new Sony game LittleBigPlanet minus its song citing verse from the Koran, which drew protests from some sectors of the Muslim community, is set to be the star of Sony’s Xmas game offerings this year.
Similar to EA’s Spore, LittleBigPlanet is a community-based game with a hugely innovative concept behind it. Players meet on a blue and green planet scattered with individual plots and use their character’s amazing abilities to play, create and share what they build with other gamers throughout the world viaPLAYSTATIONNetwork.
Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together 3D landscape; they have the power to design, shape and build both objects nd entire locations for others to view and play.
Also released is SingStar Singalong With Disney for PS2, whereby users can sing along with Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella and other Disney animated movies. With Disney proves that no one is ever too old for fairytales, and mum and dad will be keen to join in with the kids to show off their singing skills.
Resistance 2 is the sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man, and is coming to PS3. Having destroyed the London command centre of the invading alien Chimera, Sergeant Nathan Hale returns to the United States where he becomes part of a special program known as the Sentinels – a secret weapon against the Chimera assault that the US government knows is imminent. When the Chimera launch a full-scale aerial assault on both coasts, Hale and the Sentinels find themselves in the forefront of the counterattack.
