NAD has announced a new flagship universal player that comes with an HDMI output.

The Master Series M55’s HDMI connection allows HD media signals to pass digitally between source components such as processor devices and screens.

The two separate video D/A converters to process progressive and interlaced signals so that both SD and HD pictures can be output simultaneously, which is required when sending video to a second zone in the house.

It operates on the latest Faroudja chipset, which will upscale standard DVD to HD formats of 720p and 1080i.

It can play back every current format, including SACD, DVD-A, DVD-V and WMA.

It also features ‘professional grade’ 24-bit, 192kHz audio D to A converters. This buffers the sound from minor fluctuations in the power supply for a high level of sound quality.
