NBN Co CEO Mike Quigley – the controversial figure who has announced his impending resignation from the National Broadband Network builder – has bought a three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment in a recently completed complex dubbed “The Residence”, pictured, overlooking Sydney’s Hyde Park, reports Sydney high-roller property reporter Jonathan Chancellor.
But – oops – like many other Sydneysiders, Mike will have to wait at least three years for his apartment to be connected to the NBN. His new pad is on the wrong side of the park. which is not scheduled to be connected to NBN for at least three years.
Chancellor notes that Quigley sold his five-bedroom Mosman, Sydney, mansion for $3.56 million last September.
He and his missus plan to keep their NSW South Coast retreat, a 1.2-hectare Berry property that cost $2.1 million in 2010. And under current plans that isn’t scheduled to get the NBN rollout until at least 2016, Chancellor chortles.
