In an attempt to keep up with the big boys in the television marketplace, NEC has released a 50-inch Full HD plasma as well as two HD plasmas that are 42-inch and 50-inch respectively.

The 50-inch unit utilises the latest panel generated from Japanese technology to create vividly clear images. In addition to the panel, the PXT-50FHDP1 combines 1920×1080 progressive scanning as well as 100Hz refresh rate technology to ensure picture quality is delivered with precision.
It has a 30,000:1 contrast ratio, which is said to provide a richer gradation of black imaging. Standard features include multiple HDMI inputs, noise reduction, parental guidance, electronic program guide (EPG) and integrated HD tuner to enable access to HD channels.
NEC’s two new HD plasmas – the 42-inch PXT42XD3 and the 50-inch PXT50XD3 – replacing the existing NEC XD2 version. Both units come with built-in HD tuner and feature stylish new cabinetry. Both models feature 3 HDMI Inputs, allowing for multiple HD devices to be connected and displayed.
The PXT42XD3 and the PXT50XD3 with 1024×768 and 1365×768 resolution respectively, enhanced with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio. Offering a richer gradation that impacts the intensity of the black visual displays, viewers can benefit from more clearly defined images, offering a more advanced home entertainment experience.
Both the 42-inch and 50-inch comes with stands, however can be wall mounted. Focusing on flexibility, the XD3 plasma offers user the ability to choose from multiple sounds and picture mode to enhance the movie quality and suit individual preferences.
Standard features include parental guidance, timer, teletext, inbuilt speakers, integrated HD tuner and an EPG.
NEC has incorporated RS-232 control on both models of the XD3s, which enables users to connect several hardware and peripheral devices.
