NEC has announced its new Onyx series, LCD televisions that will have a built-in HDTV tuner as well as other connectivity options like HDMI, composite, component, S-Video, and PC ports.

NEC Australia’s Category Manager for Audio Visual, Paul Cunningham said, “Today we are pleased to announce the launch of a premium new range of LCD televisions, entitled the Onyx series. Designed to meet the demanding needs of the new modern home environment, the Onyx series brings to life HD viewing thanks to the integrated HD tuners, allowing our customers to watch the news or play a video game in high definition. The range which includes a 19, 22 and 26 inch format easily accommodates all home spaces big and small.”
According to NEC, the NEC 19-inch NLT-19HDB3 will has a luminous 300 cd/m2 brightness and 1,440 x 900-pixel native resolution, while the 22-inch NLT-22HDB3 will have a 400 cd/m2 brightness and 1,680 x 1050-pixel native resolution. Both models will have a dynamic 3000:1 contrast ratio and a 160-degree viewing angle. To complete the Onyx Series, the 26-inch NLT-26HDB3 will offer a contrast ratio of 5000:1 (dynamic), 2 HDMI ports, and 1,366 x 768-pixel native resolution.
Pricing and Availability
The NEC NLT-19HDB3, NLT-22HDB3 and NLT-26HDB3 are available now through NEC authorised LCD TV resellers and will have an RRP of $999, $1099 and $1299 respectively.
