Recent reports reveal Netflix is testing a new ‘Ultra’ subscription plan, one which may remove certain features from its current top-tier ‘Premium’ offering.
According to TuttoAndroid, Netflix is testing multiple versions of ‘Ultra’ in a bid to better differentiate from ‘Premium’.
Options reportedly include adding HDR to ‘Ultra’ and removing it from ‘Premium’, or potentially dropping ‘Premium’ to two simultaneous 4K streams whilst bumping ‘Ultra’ to four.
Cordcutting.com has also spotted pricing and included options for the new ‘Ultra’ plan in Germany.
Whilst confirming the presence of an ‘Ultra’ plan to CNET, Netflix affirms testing is still in progress, with inclusions likely to change until final confirmation.
With Netflix Premium currently costing US$16.99 (or A$17.99) per month, the new ‘Ultra’ tier is tipped to charge around US$16.99.
