Netgear has announced what it claims is Australia’s fastest 4G device: the Netgear Nighthawk M2 mobile router, available on Telstra 4GX LTE Network from February 26 2019, it’s next step towards 5G connectivity.
The successor to the Nighthawk M1, this latest router is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X24, the world’s first 2Gbps LTE modem paves the way for Netgear’s first foray to 5G.
Geared towards frequents flyers for business or pleasure, the next-gen device offers download speeds of up to 2Gbps to provide the convenience of secure internet access without scrambling to find secure public Wi-Fi while on the move.
The router supports Category 20 LTE Advanced, 4X4 MIMO and 5-band Carrier Aggregation, to act as a media hub for streaming content and is designed to easily slip into your everyday bag or carry-on.
It supports up to 20 WiFi devices on a single connection, ideal for travelling with family or friends, offering the convenience of a mobile router with the functionality of a travel router.
The Nighthawk M2 requires no software to install and is easy to set up in a matter of minutes — just power on and connect.
Although the mobile router features a colourful touchscreen, Netgear is touting its mobile app, which it says is the “easiest and most convenient” way to use the device, offering control over its functions, storage, security, parental controls, and real-time data usage.

The Nighthawk M2 is available on Telstra 4GX LTE network from February 26 on Telstra.
