The portable speaker market is getting crowded with Beats by Dr. Dre being the latest vendor to launch into the booming market.
In the US the speaker has become a fad, with Rap diva and current American Idol judge Nicki Minaj, teaming up with Beats by Dre to create a special-edition cotton candy pink portable speaker. The Pink Beats Pill is a portable wireless Bluetooth speaker and, just like Minaj, the speaker is tiny yet despite this it packs a powerful punch.
The new Beats Pill, is a wireless speaker with built-in, patented Beats Audio, it will compete head on up against the JBL Flip which has been picked up by several major retailers.
Beats by Dr. Dre is the leader in the $100+ premium headphone market in both North America and Europe and the company is heavily committed to growing and expanding its footprint into the Asia Pacific market this year after switching their distribution from Convoy, the distributor of the JBL brand, to Ingram Micro Mobility.

The Beats Pill will be available in the Beats by Dr. Dre signature colours black, white and red with additional colour options coming soon. It carries a recommended retail price of $259.00.
