Cisco Australia is not saying when they will officially flick their two generation old Flip Camera in Australia despite the launch in the US last night of a new new Flip Slide HD camcorder.
Last week we exclusively revealed that a new Flip Camera was coming from Cisco, the device has a new 3″ LCD touchscreen monitor that slides into a horizontal, tabletop viewing position for playback, it also has 16GB of storage compared to the 2GB of the current Mino Flip camcorder that is currently on sale in Australia.

The Flip Slide HD is similar in size and shape to the Flip Mino. It also delivers 12 hours of storage Vs 1 hour with the current model.
Cisco said the idea for the sliding-screen feature came out of user feedback indicating that many Flip users carry videos around with them, using the camcorder as a playback source to share images and scenes with friends and family.
Users expressed an interest in having the ability to carry more videos with them where ever they go, the company said.
Also included with the Flip Slide HD are stereo speakers, headphone jack, HDMI jack, built-in USB connector, volume control and FlipShare software. All other features will remain the same as those on the Flip Ultra HD.
The latter has been enhanced with new Flip Channels functionality for easy camcorder downloading of recorded images.
The Flip Slide HD will sell in the USA for $279 included is a wrist strap and pouch.
