The Hidizs AP200 Smart HiFi player has raced past its fundraising target on Kickstarter, raising fifteen times its initial goal.
According to the Hong Kong-based company behind the product, “audio that comes from portable devices tend to not sound great.”
“At Hidizs, we’re trying to change this by designing our own portable music player that enhances the music listening experience. We believe that no one should ever compromise on sound quality.”
Boasting a 3.5-inch IPS display, 3100mAh battery and USB-C ports, the AP200 is available in three sizes (32GB, 64GB and 128GB) and comes ready to play 32-bit/384kHz grade audio content right from the getgo.
Hidizs have even put together a comparison chart to show it fares against offerings from company’s like Astell and Kern.
Dedicated portable audio devices aren’t quite the money-spinner they used to be, but they’ve found a second-wind with the advent of hi-res audio.
Pricing for the AP200 starts at $239 (US) for the 32GB model, with free worldwide shipping being offered for those who buy in now.
