New Design TVs Launched By Philips

Philips has just announced its new line of LCD TVs that aims bring new image innovations to the existing TV market. The new Design Collection will include the 5000, 7000, and 9000 series and will be available starting August 2008.

The introduction of the Design Collection series LCD TVs addresses consumer demands in the fast-growing market, while also giving them a device that will create a real statement in their home.”

Design Collection 5000 Series

The 42PFL5603D is a Full HD 1080p display, while the 32PFL5403D has a 1366 x 768p HD ready panel. Both models come with an integrated HD Tuner and Philips’ Pixel Plus HD technology platform ensuring superb details, depth, and clarity. In addition, with a dynamic contrast ratio of 30,000:1 and 28.9 billion colour reproduction, the Philips 5000 series displays natural images and rich blacks.

In addition, the Philips 5000 series features Philips’ Invisible Sound System speaker technology that projects 30W acoustics without visible speakers and Virtual Dolby Digital for an enhanced home theatre experience. USB connectivity is also included for photo and music playback, and comes with 4 HDMI inputs for connectivity.

Design Collection 7000 Series

The Design Collection 7000 series uses an invisible speaker system which is fully integrated into the frame of the Flat TVs, is powered by Philips Pixel Plus 3HD Engine which offers sharpness, detail, vivid colours, and smooth natural motion on all qualities of HD, standard TV signals and multimedia content. The screen also detects artefacts and noise in all sources and reduces it for a cleaner and sharper image.

Philips HD Digital Natural Motion technology (HD DNM) eliminates the persistent juddering effects that appear with recorded movie content, while Motion Estimation Motion Compensation (MEMC) technology estimates motion in the picture and inserts compensated frames, resulting in a smoother, more natural picture and razor sharp focus.

The Philips 100Hz ClearLCD technology provides razor-sharp moving images with its amazing 3 milliseconds (3 ms) screen refresh rate. The addition of this 100Hz ClearLCD technology improves the shadow detail and black levels in dark scenes while greatly diminishing motion artefacts.

Philips intuitive settings assistant feature makes selecting on-screen preferences simple. By using a program similar to an eye test, viewers can select exactly what they perceive as the best picture and sound. Viewers choose initial preferences from the five split-screen samples and the television will make the changes and store them for future use.

The 7000 series offers four HDMI 1.3a inputs with built-in consumer electronics control (CEC) for the clean, clear digital signal. Now users can connect as many as four HDMI devices while assured their sets are future-proof for further connectivity.

Design Collection 9000 Series

The new Philips Design Collection 9000 series LCD TVs comes with the second generation Pixel Plus HD Engine that features a 17-bit Colour Booster which can display up to 2.250 trillion colours, 100Hz Clear LCD technology, fast motion response time of two milliseconds (2ms), and Dynamic Contrast ratios of up to 55,000:1.

It also comes with a unique settings assistant feature that allows a user to select their on-screen preferences with a few easy steps. By using a program similar to an eye test, viewers can select what they perceive as the best picture and sound. In addition, the Connectivity Assistant helps consumers to quickly connect all their devices with easy on-screen steps. The set provides advice and picture guides to consumers on which type of connector they should use to achieve the optimum connection.

The 9000 series offers four HDMI 1.3a+EasyLink inputs for the cleanest, clearest digital signal.
