The device is set to get a new 3D display screen made by Sharp according to executives at the Japanese Company who last week showed SmartHouse a new 3″ 3D screen that does not need 3D glasses. When questioned as to whether this was being developed for Nintendo a senior Sharp executive said “yes” shortly afterwards a PR executive said “We do not discuss developments we are doing with our partners”.
Sources have also told SmartHouse that the device will have a faster processor which has been designed to specifically drive 3D graphics to the new screen.
During last week’s demonstration of their new 3″ 3D screen Sharp showed 3D movies being rendered to the screen, the images were sharp and crisp and had distinct depth which is unusual for a 3″ 3D screen.
They also showed a new 7″ touch screen which Sharp executives admitted would be “ideal for gaming” and movies.
