Microsoft has brought a number of new features to its Microsoft Band, including new music controls and activity reminders, along with an enhanced Exercise Tile. The Microsoft Band now allows users to control music directly, with the touchscreen displaying the song title and providing the options to pause and play, skip forward and back, and turn the volume up and down.
Microsoft has partnered with Spotify, with any music app a user operates on their phone connecting to the Microsoft Band via Bluetooth.
New additions now see the Microsoft Band capable of reminding users to get up and move when they’ve been still for too long, with users also able to choose the time intervals and the days they want to be reminded.
The Exercise Tile, meanwhile, allow users to select popular options, such as yoga or weightlifting, or name their own, and when reviewing exercise sessions in the Microsoft Health app or web dashboard, they “will be grouped by exercise type for better insights”.
The What’s New Tile provides information on new features for the Microsoft Band, with the tile automatically appearing when new updates are available.
