Canon will be releasing a firmware update for its EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR camera that will enable 24P and 25P movie shooting.

Canon expects the firmware update to be available in the first half of 2010 and will release more details as they become available.
In addition, the company has made available a firmware update for the EOS 7D digital SLR camera for download. The new firmware (Version 1.0.9) claims to:
– Improve AF accuracy during Live View shooting
– Correct a phenomenon where, in rare instances, movie images exhibit abnormal colours; and
– Correct a phenomenon where the shutter does not release when used with the built-in or external flash unit.
