An upgrade of Honeycomb for tablets, is set to deliver a new application look after Google said that they plan to improve the appearance of its mobile phone apps on tablet screens, Google will also deliver an expanded book and movie service.
Google plans to offer two options to tablet owners looking to display phone apps that have not been optimised for Honeycomb: either by “stretching” the app to fit the larger tablet screen or zooming in, according to a report on the Wall Street Journal’s All Things Digital Web site.
“Android tablets are becoming more popular, and we’re pleased to note that the vast majority of apps resize to the larger screens just fine,” Google’s Scott Main said in a blog post quoted by All Things Digital.
“To keep the few apps that don’t resize well from frustrating users with awkward-looking apps on their tablets, a near-future release of Honeycomb is introducing a new screen compatibility mode to make these apps more usable on tablets.”
