Apple’s new iPod shuffle, which the company claims is the world’s smallest digital music player, will be available worldwide as of this Friday, 3 November.

The new shuffle looks the most updated out of Apple’s recently updated iPod range, as it is nearly half the size of the original and weighing in at a tiny 14 grams. It also features a built-in clip, allowing you to pin it on to your jacket or belt, if you wish.

The new shuffle contains one gigabyte of flash memory, a claimed 12 hour battery life and allows you to listen to a mix or ‘shuffle’ of all your songs, or listen to them in order, such as when listening to a new album, Apple says.

“With its ultra-compact design and built-in clip, the new iPod shuffle is the most wearable iPod ever. It completes our all-new lineup of iPods for this holiday season and beyond, and we hope it’s going to be a huge hit.” said Apple’s Greg Joswiak.

The new iPod shuffle comes with a dock (to connect it to your Mac or PC) and earbud headphones. You can download iTunes software for free online. The shuffle requires a Mac with a USB 2.0 port and Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or later and iTunes 7.0.2 or later; or a Windows PC with a USB 2.0 port and Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4), Windows XP Home or Professional (Service Pack 2) and iTunes 7.0.2 or later. Apple says Internet access is required and a broadband connection is recommended.

RRP: $119
