New iPod Sound System Hangs On The Wall

TDK has launched a new speaker system with iPod dock that can be mounted on the wall.

NX08CD

Of the four components that make up the NX08CD Micro Hi-Fi Sound System, three are wall mountable.  This 2.1-channel system plays CD, CD-R, CD-RW and MP3 discs as well as MP3 and WMA files via USB or SD/MMC. The NX-08CD plays music from the iPod and charges it while it is docked and comes with RCA sockets for connecting any external audio source.

The compact centre unit loads CDs vertically and can be operated via the remote control or the small touch controls.  Two matching thin NXT flat panel speakers complete the system and deliver terrific sound quality says the company. The NX-08CD offers FM Radio with station presets, and five equaliser settings (Pass, Rock, Pop, Classic and Jazz).

iVIBE

TDK Life on Record’s Marketing Executive, Eliza Franks said, “Consumers are into aesthetics when it comes to sound systems, and these days smaller is better. It wasn’t that long ago the family Hi-Fi was a big bulky system with speakers as big as a small child.  NXT sound technology has enabled good quality sound from small unobtrusive flat-panel speakers, which along with the central unit are slim enough to be hung on the wall.”

In addition to the NX08CD, TDK has also launched the iVIBE, a speaker that can be placed on a shelf or mounted on a wall. It comes with a 3.5mm stereo socket for external audio source, with the unit sporting a universal iPod dock located on the top of the unit.

The TDK NX-08CD is available for $329.95 while the iVIBE is sold for $229.95.
