The ThinkPad Edge E430 and E530 laptops are 14 and 15 inch notebooks respectively and the latter features Intel’s new Ivy Bridge processor.
Users can choose what hardware specs they want in their laptops, including Intel’s Ivy Bridge Quad Core Processor (Intel Core i7-3612QM), a choice between Intel HD Graphics 4000 or a 2GB Nvidia’s GeForce GT 630M graphics card and 1TB of internal storage that can be combined with a solid state drive. They’ll also have a high resolution web cam, Dolby Advanced Audio technology and USB 3.0 ports.
Although the hardware can be customised, these notebooks have been geared towards the everyday businessmen following IDC research that revealed “870,000 notebooks will be deployed to SMBs in 2012.”
The business savvy intelligence comes from a range of software, including Intel’s Small Business Advantage and Lenovo’s Solutions for Small Business Package.
“Since launching Lenovo’s ThinkPad Edge portfolio of SMB laptops, the company has worked with SMBs to design products exceeding needs and expectations in terms of security and performance,” said David Heyworth, Director Product Solutions and Alliances, Lenovo ANZ.
“The addition of the Intel Small Business Advantage, Lenovo Solutions for Small Business and Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync to Lenovo’s portfolio provides significant value to SMBs looking to bolster storage, security and data management.”
The new ThinkPad Edge series is available now, starting at $799.00 for the E430 and $759.00 for the E530. The ThinkPad Edge E530 with Intel’s i7-3612QM Processor, 1 Terabyte HDD, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M Graphics and Windows 7 Professional is available at $1199.00.
