According to Garmin, the zumo 220 is made specifically for the needs of motorcycle riders.
Matt DeMoss, Sales and Marketing Manager at Garmin Australasia said, “zumo 220 is all about ease of use and reliability at an affordable price. We’ve kept the most popular motorcycle-specific features at users’ fingertips and at a price that suits anyone’s budget. zumo 220 makes two-wheel navigation as stress-free as possible, with the added benefit of a compact and waterproof design.”
The zumo 220 is waterproof, glove-friendly and resistant to fuel spray. Its 3.5-inch colour touch screen is both rugged and responsive, as it provides the information you need at a glance in an easy-to-read format. zumo 220 displays speed limits on most major roads and articulates turn-by-turn directions through spoken street names, such as “turn right on George Street,” via the built-in speaker or through a compatible Bluetooth helmet or headset.
In addition, the zumo 220 comes with preloaded maps of both Australia and New Zealand provided by Where is, and more than 600,000 points of interest in Australia and over 110,000 points of interest in New Zealand including service stations, lodging, restaurants and other locations.
When on the road, zumo 220 makes it easy to stay on track with advanced routing capabilities that bring complex interchanges into focus with lane assist, including arrows that indicate the proper lane for efficient navigation. The zumo 220 also features HotFix, which automatically calculates and stores critical satellite information and can use that information to quickly calculate a position. While riding, users can also access trip information directly from the zumo’s motorcycle console page such as speed, heading, altitude, and a customisable fuel gauge that can be modified to the motorcycle’s maximum fuel range.
The zumo 220 has a recommended retail price of $699 and is packaged with a motorcycle mount and an automotive mount for an easy transition between bike or car.
