Nikon Australia is launching two new lenses, the AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR and the AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G, which are set to hit the local market at the end of January. The lenses are the first AF-P lenses for Nikon’s DSLR cameras, with Nikon stating both lenses “provide a natural viewpoint of getting close to a subject or capturing landscape compositions”, utilising stepping motors to drive autofocus performance.
“Additionally, clarity of each shot is enhanced with utilisation of aspherical lens elements that effectively suppress various types of aberrations,” Nikon states.
A VR mechanism engineered with the AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR additionally provides camera shake compensation equivalent to a shutter speed effect of 4.0 stops faster, helping further minimise any effects from sudden external movements.
Retractable barrels fitted into each lens contribute to portability.
“Nikon’s renowned Nikkor technology runs through these new additions, offering uncompromising functionality in two highly portable lenses,” James Murray, Nikon Australia director of sales and marketing, commented.
“Both offer truly agile performances that will complement any kit bag and are a perfect match for anyone starting out in DSLR photography.”
The lenses will be available from January 28.
