Olympus is set to use the upcoming PMA show in Australia to reveal a neat new device that is both high end Linear PCM recorder as it is 1080p video camera.
Described as ideal for people who want to record both audio and images the LS-20M incorporates a1080p HD pocket video camera with 24 bit/96kHz linear PCM audio recording.
It’s expected to retail for around $299.
The video camera/recorder, which will ship later this year according to Marc Radatt MD of Olympus Australia, records 1080p HD video, 24 bit/96 kHz Linear PCM stereo sound and includes a 2-inch LCD screen and a smaller 1.46-inch data screen that shows the time, audio levels and remaining battery life.
Other features include a 4x digital zoom auto-focus lens, and a number of Magic Movie settings including Rock Magic Movie (to make videos resembling classic rock music videos), Sketch (to create a pencil drawing effect from videos), Pinhole (to produce darkened vignetting effect) and Pop (for bright, exaggerated colors resembling pop art).
Also included is an auto voice-activation feature to automatically start recording when someone speaks.
The Olympus LS-20M is offered in a black and silver body, weighs 5.4 ounces and includes a 2GB memory card.
