Audio Active Australia is set to launch a new Paradigm Electronics active soundbar, which comes with a wireless subwoofer. It is not known what price the device will be in Australia, currently it is being sold in Canada for $799.
Shown at CES in January, the Canadian company said the feedback they received for the new device had led to the soundbar moving to full production.
The bar, called Soundtrack, is part of the company’s SHIFT series.
Soundtrack features digital optical and analog stereo inputs to connect to the audio outputs of Blu-ray players, game consoles, and settop boxes.
The 5-inch by 36-inch by 2.25-inch bar, now in satin black instead of the originally planned gloss black, incorporates two 4.5-inch active bass/midrange drivers using mineral-filled polypropylene for low mass and high stiffness, two 4-inch passive radiators of the same material, and two 1-inch pure-aluminum-dome tweeters in physically separated left and right chambers to boost clarity and channel separation. Power output is 2×25 watts.
The sub is a dual-ported model with 8-inch driver and 100-watt RMS Class D amplifier and DSP. It fits in a standard A/V cabinet.
The soundbar features IR learning so that consumers can use their existing TV remote to power the soundbar on and off, select inputs, and control volume and mute.
